Transfigure:

A Celebration of Queer Transformation in the Face of Resistance
We invite artists from the Mid-South region to participate in 'Transfigure,' an art exhibition and series of events that explores the profound and multifaceted journey of queer transformation and resiliency across the mid-south region. In a world where societal norms often dictate rigid definitions of identity, 'Transfigure' seeks to illuminate the boundless potential of self-discovery, resilience, and authenticity within queer communities.

At the heart of 'Transfigure' lies the notion of transformation as a revolutionary act. Drawing inspiration from the etymology of the word 'transfigure' ? to change in form or appearance ? this exhibition delves into the intricate tapestry of queer lives and histories, showcasing the remarkable power of metamorphosis in shaping personal narratives and collective consciousness.

Through a diverse range of artistic expressions, 'Transfigure' aims to challenge conventional binaries and embrace the fluidity of gender, sexuality, and identity. From visual art to performance, sculpture to digital media, we encourage submissions that reflect the myriad ways in which queer individuals and communities have defied societal expectations, transcended limitations, and emerged as agents of change.

As we celebrate the resilience and creativity of queer voices, 'Transfigure' serves as both a testament to the struggles endured and a beacon of hope for a more inclusive future. By illuminating the beauty and complexity of queer transformation, this exhibition invites viewers to reconsider preconceived notions, confront systemic injustices, and embrace the rich diversity of human experience.
