STEPHANIE BLEVINS
Stephanie’s art is as textured as her life has been. The third generation of women born in Tampa, Florida, Stephanie Blevins spent her youth raising horses, running around the orchid greenhouses of her parents’ business and exploring the beauty of the gulf area. At an early age, Stephanie discovered her love of art although it wasn’t until college that she found her talent. It took another 45 years for her to finally follow her passion of becoming a full-time working artist. She sees art in everything around her and is always painting a canvas in her thoughts. Whether it’s painting, cooking, gardening, entertaining, decorating, or just getting dressed, she is creating. Her art depicts a lifetime of experiences, heartbreaks, rejections, and obstacles countered by successes, incredible friendships and epic love.
Stephanie’s work includes abstracts, portraits, and scapes all of which are textured with a woven grid of acrylic. She is organized and chaotic, controlled and messy, intense and impulsive, stoic and emotional. The grid represents her controlled organized personality with the dichotomy of emotion and chaos breaking through. After a lot of life, she has finally owned who she is and the woven path of her life.
