STAN DARK

I’m a realistic artist. I love doing portraits and figurative works that have a feeling or emotional aspect to them. I started out doing graphite historical drawings and I found that they were more than pretty pictures. There was an emotional aspect to them even though they were reality based. So when I picked up the paintbrush I carried that aspect of emotion and reality into my works.

I am a colorful painter. I love color – it’s vibrancy and intensity. It can be floral, landscape or still life, but no matter what medium or genre I work in the color is strong. I do have a traditional painting style that works with realism, but even in dark and moody pieces the color is still strong. I can also flip the switch and play on the canvas with a strong graphical style.

Mediums: oils, acrylics, pencils, ink, and digital. I do realistic oil paintings.
