KATIE BENTLEY
Native Arkansan creative finding sentiment in the places we inhabit; both physically and mentally. My style of painting shares a blend of structure and surrender. Structure in detailed architectural watercolor portraits of homes and businesses, while surrendering to my own emotions in vibrant abstract acrylic works meant to bring joy and a bit if whimsy.
My favorite part of getting an architectural watercolor commission, is hearing the story. Theres always a really great story that happened in those walls and I get to handmake a keepsake that will trigger that nostalgic feeling every time it gets seen. I could not love that more. I use archival inks and 140+lb cotton paper to ensure the portraits could be a gift passed for generations.
